Project Description

This 432b Northshore Drive project was for a newlywed couple’s first home, a 5-room BTO flat in a lovely estate which is newly built.

Design approach

Thom Signature Reviews: The client wanted something more Scandinavian for their home, thus we settled on a white cream and wood color.

Living Room: We did an overlayer onto the HDB floor tiles in the living room, covering the original floor tiles with a nice vinyl. For the living room area, we carved out an area for study, where the couple can take their zoom calls and this area is like a conference area. The area looks compact, but it is actually well segregated.

Kitchen: The couple loves to cook, hence they wanted a kitchen island. We decided on a very elongated and huge island that welcomes everyone once they step into the house. Behind the island is dry pantry area with water dispenser. This is a lovely kitchen set up with shaker door backsplash and a diagonal design on the wall tile backsplash. Color is consistent, no striking color. Very soothing color scheme and effects.

Bedrooms: For the Master bedroom, they wanted something dimmer, opting for a darkwood headboard and an L-shaped wardrobe.

Bathrooms: For the bathrooms, bathroom they wanted a different kind of feel to the rest of the house.  So for the common bathroom, we used a cream based color to give a lighted up effect and some strips of textured wall to give filter effect. For the master bathroom, a darker tint was used to capture some cozy vibes with grey tiles and a wall arch mirror. We also incorporated some suspended storage units suspended above and on top.
